How Infrared Heat Works
Infrared saunas use infrared waves to raise the body’s core temperature without needing the air to be extremely hot. Our sauna operates within a range of 100ºF to 140ºF, warming tissues from the inside out so the body can produce sweat through the skin during a 45 MINUTES session.
Because the heat is delivered directly to the body rather than the surrounding air, the experience feels gentler than traditional high‑heat saunas. This method shapes comfort and hydration needs: you’ll want to hydrate before and after, and we schedule one-person, private use so each guest controls their own experience for the full time.
What To Expect During
Arrival includes a brief check-in and orientation so you know how the session runs. The private cabin is booked for one person and the full 45 MINUTES is reserved for your use. Expect to sit or recline comfortably, notice gradual warming, and sweat develops as core temperature rises.
Many clients in Darien and nearby suburbs book sessions before or after outdoor activities like Waterfall Glen visits, or to unwind after commuting on I‑55 or the Metra. The four‑season Midwest climate makes infrared sessions appealing year‑round for warming in winter and gentle sweating in summer.
Safety and Practical Limits
Infrared sauna sessions are not medical treatments. If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular issues, are taking medications, or have other health concerns, consult your healthcare provider before booking. Our team can answer general questions at booking, but medical clearance is the responsibility of your clinician.
The sauna’s temperature range of 100ºF to 140ºF determines comfort choices like clothing and hydration. Sessions last 45 MINUTES and this set timing limits how much heat exposure you can have. If you feel unwell during the session, you should end it immediately and seek assistance.
